Manager Don Wakamatsu told reporters Griffey Wednesday afternoon. Griffey was not at Safeco Field and was not expected to attend Wednesday's game.

just saw it. wow, the Kid is retired. i remember when i opened up a pack of baseball cards and his rookie was in it. he was just 19 at the time, and the card shop owner said "hold on to that, he's a future HOF'er. time sure flies.
